• Take one capsule three times a day, during or within one hour of consuming a fat containing meal (if you miss a dose do not double up at your next meal, you simply lose the benefit of alli for that meal).
• If you eat a meal that has no fat, then you do not need a dose of Alli
• You should not take more than three Alli capsules per day
• Alli may reduce the absorption of fat soluble vitamins. To ensure adequate vitamin absorption you should take a multivitamin containing fat soluble vitamins (vitamins A, D, E, K & beta carotene) once a day, at bedtime or 2 hours before or after taking your Alli.

Take one capsule, three times a day.

Take Alli just before, during or up to one hour after meals. This usually means one capsule at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Make sure your three main meals are well balanced, reduced calorie, and lower-fat.

For the best results, combine Alli with a balanced, reduced-calorie diet that contains about 30% of calories from fat. Distribute your intake of fat, carbohydrates, and protein evenly across your three main meals.

Adults aged 18 and over who are overweight, and have a body mass index (BMI) of 28 or above. Alli should be used along with a reduced-calorie, lower-fat diet.

• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and bottle after “EXP”. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. 
• Do not store above 25°C
• Keep the container tightly closed to protect it from moisture.

Do not take Alli:

• If you are allergic to orlistat or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
• If you are taking ciclosporin, used after organ transplants, for severe rheumatoid arthritis and some severe skin conditions
• If you are taking warfarin or other medicines used to thin the blood
• If you have cholestasis (a condition where the flow of bile from the liver is blocked)
• If you have problems absorbing food (chronic malabsorption syndrome) diagnosed by a doctor
• For more than 6 months


Warnings and precautions:

• Do not take Alli when using other weight loss medications or supplements

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Alli:

• If you have diabetes. Tell your doctor who may need to adjust your anti-diabetic medicine
• If you have kidney disease. Talk to your doctor before taking Alli if you have problems with your kidneys. The use of orlistat may be associated with kidney stones in patients suffering from chronic kidney disease
• If you are taking any other medicines or vitamins, either prescribed or purchased over-the-counter
• If you do not lose weight after taking Alli for 12 weeks, see your doctor or pharmacist for advice. You may need to stop taking Alli

To decrease the chance of unpleasant side effects, it is important that no more than 30% of the calories in your diet come from fat. Your daily intake of fat, protein, and carbohydrates should be evenly spread over 3 main meals.

Common gastrointestinal side effects may include:

• Oily spotting on undergarments
• Flatulence with discharge
• Urgent or increased bowel movements
• Fatty, oily stools
• Abdominal discomfort
• Bowel incontinence


Additional potential effects may include:

• Headaches, fatigue, or anxiety
• Respiratory or urinary tract infections
• Menstrual irregularities or dental issues
• Low blood sugar (in individuals with type 2 diabetes)


Severe side effects:

• Allergic reaction
• Bleeding from the back passage (rectum).
• Diverticulitis (inflammation of the large intestine)
• Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas).
• Skin blistering (including blisters that burst).
• Severe stomach pain caused by gallstones.
• Hepatitis (inflammation of the liver).
• Oxalate nephropathy (build up of calcium oxalate which may lead to kidney stones).


Stop taking the capsules and tell Juniper and your usual doctor if you experience any of these.
